GHS pictograms chemical product labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) और shipping containers पर मिलते हैं। ये usually white background पर black symbols के साथ red diamond shape में printed होते हैं।

GHS pictograms मुख्य रूप से workplace safety और chemical handling के लिए हैं, जबकि DOT (Department of Transportation) labels dangerous goods transport के लिए use होते हैं। DOT labels अक्सर colored होते हैं और bottom पर class number होता है।
